Genevieve Smyth has 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist and works at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists as a Professional Adviser. Her published research interests include how to keep the person at the heart of service delivery;  using meaningful occupation to promote social inclusion; using health economics to demonstrate value and how to increase research capacity and partnerships.. She is currently promoting the role of occupational therapists to support people returning to employment using the AHP Health and Work Report in Occupational Therapy Led Vocational Clinics in GP surgeries. She is also delivering the Health and Work Champions project with Public Health England to create culture change so that the links between good work and good health are better recognised and routinely asked about in care.   • Embedding work as a health outcome using the 2019 Healthcare Professionals  Consensus Statement on Health and Work and e-learning modules
  • Outlining the positive impact of access to occupational therapy led vocational clinics in GP surgeries for employees with mental health and/or musculoskeletal problems
  • Discussing the potential for employers and employees to use the AHP Health and Work Report as evidence for sick pay rather than the GP Fit Note.
