Jean King is Deputy Director for Health in the Work and Health Unit. This is a joint Department of Health and Social Care and Department for Work and Pensions unit that is part of the Employee, Health and Inclusive Employment Directorate and the Office of Health Promotion. She is also co-chair of the DHSC Equality Matters Network. Jean has worked in areas across health including violence and vulnerabilities, social care, acute care and NHSX, alongside working in central government departments including Cabinet Office, Home Office, Department for Education and Government Digital Service. Prior to joining the civil service Jean worked in the charity sector, parliament and for a private sector SME. She is also a trustee for Jigsaw4u, a children’s charity based in South West London.
